I went on two different interviews and the types of questions were completely different. I had to do an essay on the first interview. Basically they gave me a short article on adaptive devices for children to read books on the computer, summarized it, and discussed how it related to what I knew so far...the first type of interview were more like these questions:
1. Why OT? What is your perception of OT?
2. Why did you choose OT?
3. Why did you choose this school?
4. Talk about your volunteer work.
5. How do you deal when your stressed?
6. What skills do you have that will help you successfully help you complete the program? OR How would you deal with a very intense, rigorous, and stressful program?
7. What are your strengths/weaknesses?
8. Tell me about a time you failed. What did you learn?
9.What do you think the most important quality (or more) that an OT should have? Or What physical/personal characteristics should one have to be an effective OT?
The second interview the questions leaning toward some "what would I do in this situation?" questions...
1. You're working with a patient (a child) and all of a sudden they start to cry and cry and won't do anything. What do you do?
2. Why not PT or Speech?
3. What 3 words would a former co-worker (in my case they said the parent of a student since I was a former teacher) use to describe you?
They also looked at my personal statement and were grabbing questions from that...so all in all, it really varies depending on the school and what they are looking for...but I'm sure you will do great! Just relax and know they asked you to interview 🙂
