Does getting an early interview (aug/sep) mean that you are a top pick for that school?
 
Top pick might be a little strong. However, it does mean you have distinguished yourself enough to avoid being put in the "maybe we'll invite this one, but let's hold off a bit" category. It also means that the school does want you as part of their class, assuming they like what they see at the interview.
