Interview pre-secondary

I always believed that pre-secondary interviews are reserved for applicants with extremely high grades, but I just received one from Western University. I definitely don't have amazing grades: 3.3-3.4 overall, 25 MCAT. I never see this school among the "top10" on people's lists either, even though they seem to have the highest MCAT average (28) out of all the DO schools. This fact also makes me wonder why I got this invite pre-secondary. I was just a bit surprised by the early i-view invitation. Anyway, I'll gladly take it as it is my first!

yeah, I applied last month, and they e-mailed me three days after they got my primary application and said I'm invited.
I think it's kinda weird too.

I received the invite and request for secondary app today! I am not sure if this is how COMP does it or if this is good news. They are already pushing interviews back to March though. I read on another post that they have a 90% acceptance rate for those that interview...can this be true?

One of the reasons the MCAT might be so high is because its a DO school in cali.

Western University, like all universities, look at the overall package of the student, not just MCAT and GPAs. The found something in your application that warranted a pre-secondary interview. Many students who have gotten in before November 15th had to put their deposit in by December 15th. Because of that, many students declined their acceptance. As a result, Western University is extending more interviews.

COMP definitely does not send the interview invite pre-secondary for all applicants. It is a good news. The ~90% acceptance rate from the interview is true. I know many people who have been waitlisted and rejected with decent stats. Be calm, but know that you are not guaranteed a spot. Best of luck.

That is how I got my interview invite, too, but I turned it down last week so maybe you got my spot! Good luck with the interivew.👍

Now I feel bad, I've heard nothing since they received everything from AACOMAS. I'm a 3.8 GPA & 20 MCAT, but retaking in January. 🙁 Congrats on your interview! Hopefully after January I'll get one too!

Don't feel bad. I have a 26N and ~3.5 sci, ~3.4 overall and I've heard nothing except to tell me I was deficient in some coursework that, in fact, had been completed. I've sent the admission office an email, but I'm waiting to hear back. I think everyone is gone for the holidays.

I think the automatic interview cutoff is like 24 and a 3.3 gpa... i had this type of interview invitation as did many of my class mates.
