hey guys
I'm interviewing at NOVA this thrus and my gpa is kind of on the lower end of the scale...still above 3.0 but not by much....soooo they are probably going to ask for an explanation as to WHY this is?

I did do alot of extracirricular activities but how would i say that without making it seem like my PRIORITY was those activities???????????????????????????

ANY ADVICE PLEEEEASE!!!!!!! thank you!

Just be honest. Maybe you didn't spend enough time studying because of your extracurriculars. But now you know that you must study more often to succeed in Optometry school. Show you've learned from your experiences.

I interviewed at NOVA last Friday and my GPA is bubbling under 3.0 and the interviewers did not ask me 1 thing about my grades, just thought I'd let you know. At SUNY, they hosed me on my grades, and I knew I wasn't going to get in because it's hard to know what they want to hear in that regard, I was actually really turned off by that at SUNY. Anyhow, good luck with your interview!

If your GPA is under 3.0, why would you be turned off that they asked you about that? Didn't you expect it?

Yes, but there's so much more to me, or any applicant, than your grades. They saw my grades, and decided to invite me for an interview. What's the point in spending more than half the interview on "why did you get a C in this class?" etc... The other interviews I've had always focused much more on trying to figure out who you are as a person beyond the numbers and letters you put on your application.

To the OP, I have now gotten into NOVA, so you do have a chance! Just be yourself and answer honestly, the interview isn't too bad. Good luck!

heya

I applied 2 weeks ago, and I just got an interview invite to NOVA. I was wondering if the interview was one on one, and how long was the whole entire process.

Thanks in advance!!! 🙂

2 on 1 interview at NOVA. I went in the morning at 8:30, whole day concludes by 1. If you have a 10:30 appointment, you interview once the morning people leave and could stay until 3.
