I think almost all CA schools and a few more across the country ask for writing samples

Buffalo and temple do.

Buffalo is rather easy, 10 minutes and the topic is usually very basic (example: whats your favorite TV show)

Temple is rather long, its towards the end of the day and you have almost unlimited time to get it done. Most people finished in 15-20 minutes... I took like 45 minutes haha

WVU also requires a writing sample. There are 4 questions and you can choose 2. The length of the writing assessment is only 10 minutes and the topics are pretty general (write about a community service that has inspired you; what do you have that other candidates may not, etc.). Not bad at all. I found that the adcoms referred more to the writing assessment during my interview than my actual personal statement.

They probably want to see whether the applicants can pieces 3 words together into a sentence; unlike a ps, which, God knows how much of the original still stands.

Thank you all very much. I am just worried about how much they weigh in on those in person interview essay questions.
