Hi everyone, hope you are having a good weekend. I am preparing for my third interview and want to make sure it's great so I'm going back to reviewing my answers to the most cliche questions. However, I wanted to get some suggestions/tips on how to answer/structure the following two questions.

1. Tell me about yourself?

I know this question is a question to steer the interview a little towards the direction you'd like.. But, I'm still having a hard time coming up with a great answer.

2. What are your Strengths and weaknesses?

I have a good grasp of the strengths/weaknesses I wanna talk about. But, should I state my strength first, then discuss a personal story to explain it, and restate the strength at the end? Not sure how to structure this answer.

Once again, thank you everyone for all the help. You are amazing.

I had a lot of trouble with the Tell me about yourself question also. I felt the method that helped me structure a decent answer was the Past, Present, Future model. For example, I started out talking about when I was younger I always was interested in the medical professions but didn't really know which direction to go. Then, when I began college I was interested in dentistry. Then I described all the things I did to learn more about dentistry (join PDS, shadow, become DA). Next I talked about what I do now and why I really like dentistry ( from what I see at work). Then like a short sentence about I would really enjoy being a dentist and helping my patients overcome dental anxiety (Future).

As for strengths and weaknesses, my pre-health advisor said that you should state the strength or weakness then give like an example of each. Otherwise you can say I am a very hard-worker, but that's just a claim. If you have a story, you can back up the statement a little better. Hope that helped. Good luck!
