Hi! I recently had my first interview at Texas Tech and felt really good about it initially, but after thinking about it a ton I am now having regrets, wishing I would have said more about some things, not said some things at all and worded some things differently. The interview was super casual but i was still nervous. I started talking about how I was an introvert and how i like people but i need time to myself. I feel like I should not have said that, but it was something i thought of when asked about personality traits. Has anyone had a similar experience where they felt really nervous at their interview and thought it might have ruined their chances of getting in? If so did you still get in? I'm just bummed that my first interview was at my top school and I might have bombed it :/

Everyone always wishes they could've said something different during their interviews - it's totally normal. Given how high stakes these interviews are, we tend to replay them in our heads out of anxiety and uncertainty. PT schools generally invite you to interview to make sure you're not a dunce and can communicate with other humans articulately. I wouldn't worry too much about the specifics as long as you were genuine and came off as personable. As many have told me, it's out of your control now anyway so focus on what you CAN control.

Thank you for the kind words. There were parts of the interview that went really well so Im hoping that is what they remember.

Hi! I totally understand the anxiety you're going through. I too interviewed at my top school and, unlike the other interviews I have attended, cannot stop thinking about things I wish I elaborated on or didn't say. However, like the person above said, the interview isn't the end-all, be-all for getting in to these graduate programs. They mostly want to see how you interact with the faculty, your potential future peers, and can articulate clearly that you have a passion for physical therapy. Good luck to you!

LOL I came home from my interview and cried hysterically - I thought I bombed it, thought of all the things I should have said, that one time I said "um", and so on.
Two days later I got the phone call from the Director telling me I was accepted.
Don't worry! There's NOTHING you can do about it and you'll know soon enough.

That makes me feel so much better. Thank you for sharing.

Good luck to you too! Thank you for sharing. It makes me feel better knowing I am not the only person going through this.

Nothing is wrong with being introverted and need time for yourself!
There are no "perfect/correct answers" for interviews. Since you have thought through all your answers now, you can change them during your next interview if you want. But if you felt ok during/right after the interview, it probably went pretty well.
Yes, I wish I had better answers to some interview questions. I felt like some of my answers were not even comprehensive since I had to make things up because I did not really have an answer to a few questions they asked me. But I ended up getting accepted. So, do not criticize yourself too much 🙂.
