Hi all,

Well I am having a stressful week and I need an honest answer. I know I can count on the loud mouths in here to help me =)). So, they closed the retail pharmacy/store that I worked at and I now have a full time job looking for a full time job.

I got a response from two companies so far within about 1 week. One of them (the one I am most interested in) email me last friday about an interview. They asked me to respond with a date/time. I responded within about 2 hours on friday (3 days ago).
I will be out of town part of the week so my availability was today (monday), tomorrow or friday of this week. It is now the monday (about 4pm), 3 days later and I have not heard anything back from the recruiter regarding a time slot.

Should I move on?

Did you call to follow up?

Did you call to follow up?
The person did not include their phone but they asked me to include mine.
I sent an email follow up today. (Also sent my original one on friday with my time slots). I basically said thank you again for getting back to me, I am still interested in the position and asking if they are still interviewing candidates for the position...i included "waiting patiently for response"at the end and "thanks again"..very polite and not pushy at all.
I dont want to sound desperate but I AM and I don't want them to forget about me 😢

You're expecting a response and an interview in less than 1 business day? Chill.
I am pretty much chill for now but never had this happen so I'm just curious if anyone else has. Usually people who are truly interested will respond to me within 1 business day. Now its been almost 2 full business days without a response (at approx. 10am tomorrow). I'm just wondering at what point I should start worrying that they are no longer considering me ??

I will echo what was said above, don't expect a response so fast. I interview people. I often send out the "requests for dates" compile them all, adn then schedule interviews. This may take a week or more. It is not like that is the only job the person has, they are doing all of their other work, and will get to the schedule when they can. Most interviews that I have occur 2-3 weeks down the road - longer if the person is flying in. And using the words "patiently waiting" is so passive aggressive, Don't do that - it doesn't help

ugh..ok..I will try to calm down..Its just that when they asked my for my date, they specifically said a date in the next week so I expected it to be in the next few days
I hate being without a job and also being in limbo about things. Its literally killing me. My last day at work was 4 days ago and I'm kind of losing my mind

If I was ghosted by a recruiter. I wouldn't follow up. But then again, I am not desperate for a job. Sucks that during 3.6% unemployment pharmacists are getting desperate for jobs.

I think you should show up physically to the employer, demand to speak to the highest authority and get them to capitulate to your demands. After all if they don't respond fast now, what will they do when you are there working and ask for a month off starting the next day?

Really, in all seriousness, treat it as though the job acquisition process is a dance with the employer holding the lead. Follow them and be ready when you have to make a move i.e. answer interview questions. Its a tough market now you maybe out of work for months with a large pool candidates for each job. Good luck

Dude take a chill pill. HR people only work like 2-3 days per week, they're never in their office. They're always "working from home". Employers can be desperate to hire someone but HR is always super slow.

@Dred Pirate, since you are have experience hiring people I'll direct this at you...
One of two of the positions I applied for at the same company were taken down. Dont see it listed as of today...What does this mean? Does it mean they already got someone or that they are closed for accepting new applications??

could mean several things
1. Position filled
2. Position eliminated (no job to fill)
3. HR says "we have enough applicants, time to choose one, we are closing it until we hear from you"

#3 happens a lot at my shop, HR gets 50 applicants, screen out 30 of them, and sends 20 to us, and tell us to either choose one or tell them non of them are qualified.

Just give them a call. I got stood up for a phone interview and ended up calling them. It has been my workplace for the last seven years now.

Literally? Have you started a Go Fund Me?

Don't lose your mind, you'll need it for your new job. There are schedules to coordinate beyond just yours. Good luck.
