I applied really late to dental school (my application only got verified a couple weeks ago). Since then, I've received 4 interview invitations within the past 2 weeks. One of them is already in February, while the other two are next week (these are only a several hours driving distance)s. The latest school I recently received an invitation from is all the way across the country. Their earliest date available for an interview is December 2, but they have a few other dates in December available, as well as January.
I have applied to 15 schools in total, and haven't heard back from the other ones yet, but I'm realistic because I just finished sending secondaries a week ago. I believe I'm a strong candidate but I really want to know whether these two interviews (prior to December) will work out, before I spend another $700 towards airfare and hotel for this other school. I am much more likely to attend these two other schools if I get accepted.
Should I wait and take the interview in mid December OR even early January (by that time, I might hear back from other schools), or should I just book it for the earliest date in December. This is a school I will likely not attend if I have other options, but I'm also not at a position to be picky since I've applied so late. Please let me know what you guys think. I really need some feed back.
Also, how likely is it that I will gain acceptance to these schools if I'm interviewing in mid december. Does this drastically affect my chances compared to an early december interview? How soon would most people find out after a december interview?
Sorry for so many questions. I'm just really perplexed. I'm stressed, broke and I have no more money now that I've dished out so much money to apply for these 15 schools. I didn't realize traveling to these schools would cost so much money 🙁 I would really appreciate any feedback.
