Im a pharm student and I had an assignment to interview a doctor and submit an article on the interview. The topic is called "Communication and Dealing with People in the Healthcare Setting"

Wondering what types of questions you would suggest that I ask when interviewing prospective doctors?

Also, anyone that know any related articles that could help me this assessment would be greatly appreciated

My grandmother was hospitalized and she spoke no English so the nurses had a really hard time trying to interpret her facial expressions and asking her questions. She was never able to tell them exactly what felt wrong or what type of pain she was feeling, or if she needed something. Luckily, our physician was Korean so she could communicate to him, but I wonder how she would have gotten her problems across if he weren't. For the same reason, he was able to relay information to my parents, who speak very little english.
So i guess you could ask the doctor how he/she handles patients and family members of patients with whom he cannot communicate....especially in the absence of a translator.

Ok thanks 🙂 what other questions can i ask? I'm running out of ideas
