I just took DAT today but i am lucky that they are not looking at my RC score. i had 17 RC now, hope this will help.
Maybe they are just looking at your TS/AA/PA.

Catfish said:Kimsaekyu, do you mind if I ask if you're from a non-English speaking country? I grew up in non-English speaking country and moved to US 3 yrs ago. I have an 18 on the RC (~ 38th% which is low), and when I went to the interviews, I always got the questions like, "so, how did you study English? How did you overcome the language and culture barrier? Do you think you'll have communication problems when you enter dental school? Do you read?" Since your RC is even lower, be prepared for some mean questions.
BTW, you have a 12 on RC, but a 21 AA 😱 , you must score really high on all the other sections to pull it up. That's impressive 😀[/QU
got 21/22/20

I think most schools are going to understand that it is NOT fair to compare reading comprehension scores of native english speakers with non-native speakers.
But don't be offended when schools ask very probing questions about your ability to communicate effectively with patients and to read and understand complex scientific material - especially if you have a very noticeable accent. I had a perfect score on RC and often find myself re-reading some of the material assigned in dental school because I didn't quite get it the first time.
Good luck and congratulations on the interviews.
