Hi everyone,
I received an interview invitation from Lake Erie COM today. I'm confused--I didn't send them my letters yet. I received a file status card last week stating my secondary has been received but my file is missing the letters. Is this is a mistake? Or do schools sometimes invite people for interviews without letters? It did say in the invitation letter that all secondary materials should be in before the interview. Interesting. Any thoughts?

I also got an interview for Lake Erie today and my file isn't complete cause I still haven't gotten a DO letter and I just sent off other LORs today to them.

I was wondering this also. I had received my letter from LECOM dated Sept 5th and I had my LOR sent on the 4th. Mmmmmmmmmm. Wonder what would happen if you interviewed without the letters. 😱 Maybe they are trying to get a jump on the competition.

I just interviewed at WVSOM and the director of addmissions went over my file with me. It seems that my LOR's hadn't arrived yet. She told me that they would have to be in before my file could go before the addmissions committee, but that interviewing w/o them was no problem.

LECOM can be very accomodating when it comes to interviews. During my second round of applying, I received a call from LECOM saying that they wanted to interview me during my first application, but ran out of interview slots, so they wanted to interview me with the stuff in my file from last year!

The interview prior to LORs simply means that everything they've received so far is positive. Unless you botch the interview, or there is a huge disparity between your interview and LOR, it is to your advantage to interview earlier, since a very strong interview might counteract so-so LORs.

When I interviewed at LECOM almost everyone in my interview group had something missing from their application - I think only one or two people had a file that was "complete." I agree with tkim that since you got an interview even without a complete file that they must have liked what they saw in the info they did have.

Good luck! 😀
