I finally got an interview from SUNY. I wanted to know what are the stats for like the chances of acceptance if you get an interview for both SUNY and PCO.

Also I know it has been posted before many times but for those of you who interviewed at SUNY or PCO...what are some of the most common/difficult questions they ask. I am mostly tense about the political and latest issue questions.

I got into both schools and my profile was

GPA 3.65
Science GPA 3.7
OAT 350
Science OAT 370

For the extra consideration, my first language is not English, so you might want to count that in.

For the interview, try to use databases in the SDN. It helped me a lot.

I was pretty laid back with PCO interview because I was even talking about tennis and hunting.

For SUNY, it was more like very formal interview. If I have to pick the most difficult question, it was "What's your greatest achievement in your life?" I know it's a bit standard question. I prepared both interview with SDN, my applications, and school websites. I hope this helps

P.S. almost forgot to mention, for PCO, they ask you randomly this, "What do you think is the challenge that Optometry field is facing?"

My interview at SUNY was the complete opposite. It was very laid back and it was more like a conversation. It consisted of 4 doctors (including Dr. Johnston) and the majority of the questions asked can be found in the interview feedback section on this forum. Dr. Johnston and I were crackin' jokes at each other, it was that laid back!

Good luck! I know its cliche but just be yourself and you will be fine! Oh and mention how good the NY pizza is, they couldn't stop laughing when I jokingly told them it was my number one reason for choosing NY 🙂
