I have an interview on friday and I am starting to pack. i wanted to bring a notebook, is it rude to jot notes while I am talking to my interviewer? I read somewhere that they recommend you take notes... I guess so you look like you really care about what he is saying, but it seems awkward to me. If I should bring a notebook how big should it be? Is a legal pad OK? or could I get one that fits in my pocket like a memo book, that way I am not carrying anything around. Also should I bring anything else with me? My copy of the AADSAS or something? I just don't want to be ill-prepared!

sorry if I am over analyzing I really want to be a dentist!

Hey janismia,

You sound just like me before I went on my first interview. Speaking from experience you have to relax, what you said is definitely true, you are over analyzing. On my interviews, most people brought with them a folder (legal paper sized) and a pen. I don't know what was in their folders, but in mine was my resume, my aadsas essay and the invitation letter. Granted, I didn't need any of these, but just in case I did, I was prepared. During the actual interview, I don't really think you need to take notes...it's really just a conversation (depending on where you interview) with a couple a questions from both ends. The only time you may want to take notes is during the presentations when they tell you what the school offers (NBDE scores, emphasis of the curriculum, financial aid, etc). But remember, bring whatever you think will be necessary, just to have peace of mind, as you don't want to be too stressed out during your interview. GOOD LUCK!!!🙂

Thanks for the advice. I do need to calm down a little! When I applied it was really late and I was worried that my grades weren't good enough and I just kept saying "If I can just make it to the interview, they will accept me" and now heres my chance!
