Interviewed and not got in?

Just curious about what my chances of getting in are if my interview went well, my application looks pretty good except for my OAT scores, and i'm interviewing at NECO and ICO....any thoughts? anyone interview there and not got in?

to be honest, I interviewed at ICO and didn't get in. (My GPA is 3.6, OAT 330 overall, science 350). I don't know what happened, I thought the interview went well too! But, the best thing you can do is be confident. If you are persistent, you will eventually get in somewhere (I ended up getting into IU in the end). Good luck!

Academics are not the only thing thats being considered. If you get an interview invite, that means that you are academically fit. If you didn't get in, that means the interview didn't go so well and that had nothing to do with academics. And I think that you may have a good feeling and that doesn't mean that the interview went well. If you say something that interviewer doesn't like, the are professionals and they won't show it in the way they look or act. Thats just my theory through. Your best bet is to prepare "right" answers for common questions but add some personal experiences into those answers. I do not believe in a popular advice "to be yourself". I believe that the interviewer is looking for certain qualities/answers, so you need to provide those to get in. I did get in into all the schools I applied btw including ICO.

I agree...my NECO interview was even less formal than I expected ..I have no idea whether I was there for 5 minutes or for 30. I was asked the basics: why optometry? what can I contribute? etc and I'm not sure if I even got one answer out before another was asked....at the end all the professor said was that everything looks good but my OAT scores could use a boost and that it's not his decision or something to that effect. So I really dont know how to feel about it....He was very nice, just maybe a little too quick, I thought the NECO interview was supposed to be to get to know me...
