So far this cycle I have received my first II, I am beyond excited since its an in state school really close by.

I really want to attend here since its mission statement best describes me. I'm going into this interview with decent at best stats. 3.45; 8/8/9 mcat (27 if you take my best scores combined).

How can I make sure I amaze and make interviewers see I'm not just numbers?

I mean, the fact that you got the interview indicates that they think you'd be successful in med school, despite your stats. Now you need to show that you fit into their med school environment.

Obviously, don't draw attention to the stats unless they're asked; don't blame others or yourself for what you think might have gone wrong / don't make too many excuses. Emphasize your positives (unique ECs, unique circumstances etc). There was definitely a lot of eye-catching things in your app that made them consider you, so I'm sure you'll have a lot to talk about in the actual interview. Good luck!

Congrats on the interview. My guess is if it is an allopathic interview you have really excellent experience with medicine and/or a masters degree or it is a newer school dedicated to serving a particular community that you have experience with. I would emphasize those experiences and how much you've learned and your ability to work hard for a sustained period. I think it is very difficult to both be thinking about what interviewers want to hear and sound genuine. If you were interviewing why would you select yourself instead of someone with a 3.6 and a 32MCAT? Don't put any other type of applicant down but there is a reason they selected you, I would emphasize that. Don't worry too much, mine mostly felt like my friends asking me about why I was applying to medical school and what I thought it would be like.

Its most likely a school where they do MMI (CA) so they wont ask about your stats. At your interview just try to focus on being yourself, being compassionate, and try to remember all of the things that drove you to medicine. Also, look up some common ethical dilemmas that occur in medicine. GL!

I assume you're URM and disadvantaged. The fact that you got the interview means they looked past the stats. Now just emphasize your experiences or (probably) work with under served communities and how that relates to the mission statement. ONLY bring up stats if they ask. You'll get into some schools, don't worry.

Thanks! It's an MD school that has great community emphasis but provides an amazing medical education.

I'll figure out how to emphasize my strengths so I'm selected. Thank you!
