Hello,

I keep reading about all your interview appointments, and I'm wondering about the August MCAT problem. I got my AMCAS done in June, it is being verified (transcript got lost), and I've already sent out about 8 secondaries. My LORs are going out early next week, waiting on one in the mail. Has anyone, once verified, received an interview pending MCAt scores? Or are they going to wait till Oct 15, before considering interviewing me? My GPA, essay, and extra stuff are very strong. The suspense is killing me. 😱

Thanks!

I believe that almost all schools wait until they receive your MCAT scores. At most schools, a serious review of your application file will not take place until the file is "complete". Obviously, your MCAT scores are a very important part of that file. Once the file is complete, then it will be reviewed to determine what your status will be. I took the MCAT last August. My secondary applications, LORs and everything else necessary had been sent to the schools I applied to by the first of September. (With the exception of three schools that screen before sending a secondary application.) My first interview was in November with two in December and the majority were in January and February. (I turned down two in March because I was accepted at my #1 choice.) Hang in there. It seems that you have done everything you can up to this point. I know it is hard to be patient, but it sounds like you have a strong application. Knock 'em dead on the MCAT and the interview offers will start coming in. Good luck! 🙂

Thank you! I feel better now. 🙂
