I was wondering how the interviews are when you are applying for school? Was it scary for anyone and what kind of questions do they typically ask? Any tips?

I found this forum last cycle when I applied and I basically prepared with these questions:

As for my experience, every school I interviewed at was completely different. Some had a written aspect as well as a one on one interview. Some were two on one. One interview they scrutinized my file and asked questions about my most challenging classes. Another they didn't even open my file and asked about extracurricular activities not even related to PT. I was extremely nervous for the first one. Personally, none of my interviews really asked about things currently going on in the field of physical therapy like vision 2020, but other people have gotten questions on things like that. Questions were more focused on my motivation towards becoming a physical therapist. One of the best questions I got was "Why physical therapy instead of other healthcare professions like nursing?" So the best advice I can probably give is just be yourself and have fun.

...I almost forgot, make sure to ask the interviewer questions!

Thanks for the help! I was just wondering if I talk about how I was pre-pharm but decided to do physical therapy because I believed in helping patients recover naturally instead of medication, would that help?

Yes that would help. They want to know why you're applying to PT school. You could do a million things but you have chosen PT. It's good that you've tried other paths, but realized they weren't right for you. Tell them why you chose PT and not something else.
