So I have been reading on other specialties sites that people have already been recieving interviews...i dont even think half of my programs for pmr have dl'd any part of my application yet...just wondering for those of you who have come before...do interviews from pmr programs usually come later like early to mid october or so...or do they start in september?? just wondering...kinda worried..though not really yet...i think if by january 29 i dont recieve any interviews...then i will worry...(who am i kidding...if i dont recieve word by next week, i'll worry)

As far as I know, they don't start interviewing till possibly late October or even November.. then on until January sometime. I've heard some places will offer interviews soon after downloading an application and others will wait until October to actually look at all the candidates and decide on interview invites.

As for me, I've had nine or so "downloads" for PM&R residencies (which is about half of the ones I applied to, but this will vary depending on how many total residencies you applied to), and it's still early so I think some program directors have different strategies, schedules, or may just be swamped for the time being. It can be quite addicting to go through the list every day to see who downloaded what, isn't it?

Anyway, no invites for me, but I doubt anyone has received a rejection yet. I guess the wait goes on...

how many interviews are typically offered for each available spot?? Or does it vary per program? On another note, how does it typically work... if you get an interview across country and have also applied at other institutions across country is it possible to set up joint interviews, or do you just wait for the programs to contact you? Just curious how this whole thing works!
thanks--
PS anyone have any input of the Sinai, Baltimore program..

Hi.

I just got an interview from Albert Einstein in NY. I'm sure the fact that I rotated there had a lot to do with the early interview. I too am 'addicted' to checked the tracking log to see who has downloaded what. But so far, haven't heard much from my PM&R programs.

good luck to everyone! :luck:

Parmed - did you get a formal invite through the ERAS message system and your associated e-mail or was this directly through their department communication with you? I'm wondering if most programs go through the avenue of the ERAS message system unless you've already rotated somewhere and they contact you directly...

Most of my invites were in October.

And relax. Stop looking at ERAS to see who has uploaded your app. I used to look at that page every day, and all it did was drive me crazy

Hi Melancholy,

I did not get the invite through the formal ERAS system, but through a direct communication from the program coordinator. I'm sorry if I added any fuel to the fire, I think Finally M3 is right and interview probably aren't going to be doled out until much later.

Good luck.

🙂

Yeah you're right, it's not good to check ERAS too often. Just curious in case I somehow missed the boat on when interviews would start coming in. I informally received an invite as a reply to one of my e-mails about something completely different, but it sounds like some programs haven't really started to dig into the applicant info yet.

hey melancholy,

congrats on the informal invite...

take care.
