Hey I have an interview at SUNY Optometry in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone knows what I should be expecting. I have never been on an interview for school, so I'm a tad nervous about the whole thing. Thanks 🙂

Hey, I have one too!!! I heard that we go in, write a short essay on some randomly assigned topic, and then 3-4 optometrists interview us for 30 minutes. Then we'll take a tour, and I've HEARD that they take us back in and tell us if we made it in... but don't quote me on that. I hear it's the most intimidating, intense interview out of all of the schools, but if you prepare, I'm sure you'll be fine! Good luck!!

Did you hear this from someone who interviewed at all of the schools?

Do an advanced search in the optometry forums for "SUNY interview" and you'll find a lot of threads about SUNY's interview.

What the above poster said is correct, but I am not sure how many people hear on-the-spot about the acceptance decision -- that depends on how much of your application is complete (OAT scores, pre-req classes, etc.).
