do they wait till they recieved all recommendations before they call you in for interviews?

What if the required is 3 recommendations and you are sending in 4, do they wait till they get all 4 or do they call you in after the third rec is in?

Once you fullfill the required LOR amount then your application is complete. The extra LOR's are just gravy on your application.

They will schedule an interview before all of your letters are in, but will require that they be on file (a minimum of 3, 2 being from science professors) before they will sit down with you in person. I would imagine that some schools will just put your file on hold until everything is in however.

Most schools require a secondary application and an application fee before considering you for an interview. I wouldn't expect a lot of activity this week and possibly next since the academic year is starting and most schools are dealing with new students. I suspect they are putting together schedules for when people will be available to interview applicants.

Sending in 4 instead of 3 LOR is a smart step, cuz some advisors/professors tend to procrastinate these things. And you do want to make sure fulfilling the minimum requirements of the schools you're applying to.

yea i found another professor who said he has one ready for me from when he wrote it for me for a summer program so i'll have a total of 5 rec's. and maybe one from a dentist. is it possible to have TOO many recs? 🙄 cuz i'm thinkin of asking one more professor to make it a total 6 academic and one dentist (maybe i'll have 2 from dentists if it works out)
