If I will be complete as of the beginning of next week, about how long do you think it will take to hear about interviews and when do you think the interviews will be scheduled for. Also based on when you think the interviews will be, do you believe I will still have a shot at the school. I am wondering how much the holidays will slow down my application. By the way my science GPA is 3.8 and nonscience 4.0 with an MCAT score of 25 if this helps. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Your app is late, but your stats should give you a decent shot for some interviews. However, no one can even begin to answer your questions without knowing what schools you are applying to.

I am applying to KCUMB, KCOM, DCOM, CCOM, PCOM, NSU, DMU, LECOM. My top 3 choices are KCUMB, CCom, and DMU.

jean-do you have a DO letter? i think by applying this late it may look like DO is your backup after not hearing from MD schools. make sure you have a letter if you don't already!!

Don't ask "if" your secondaries will be complete, tell yourself "my applications will be completed and sent out by Wednesday." Well, your GPA is stellar and your MCAT is average. In my experience the turn around time was 1-4 mos. 1 mos to process your app. and your interview will be scheduled 1-3 mos. after you receive notice you got an interview. You still have a chance, but don't wait until January because by then most schools would have filled up half of their entering class and you may get waitlisted.

Interviewing is an art, some people have it naturally. Others on the other hand must prep up for it. When you do go to your school for interview, study your application carefully with a fine toothed comb. Any descrepancies such as: your B in sciences, lack of volunteer/research experience, "why X school and not Y school", or lack of work will be something that may make one of your interviewers blow a whistle. Don't allow your interviewers to intimidate you as they are trying to find a perfect match for their school, just like you are trying to find "the" perfect school for you. As for appearance, try to dress conservatively; this is no place for you to dye your hair, dress in punk, dress in gothic (although I'm sure my mom's friend's daughter did this; she graduated from UCSF and is in residency...4.0 / 40+ mcat/ children's book author, so unless you have lots of back up schools...don't try this.)

Practice with others and if you say, 'um, yah, uh huh, like"<--in a poor So-cal accent, you're definitely going to have problems since this is distracting to the content of your interview. Don't take offense by comments made by your interviewers. Definitely, don't try to booster yourself up because you feel intimidated by other people interviewing with yourself. The people in the committee can see this and may see this as a lack of confidence just like a used car salesmen comparing a lemon to a ferrari.

Good luck in your interviews.😀

I do have a DO letter finally! The DO lor is the reason why I will not be complete at schools until the beginning of next week. I only applied to two MD schools, my state school and another one that was suggested by my advisor.

for LECOM I got the invite about a week after I was complete (10 days I believe) and then interview was 2 weeks later. I am in-state so I assume they schedule the interview a bit later if you need to travel. Best of luck! :luck:
