For those of you interviewing for prelims, how many interviews do you currently have?

I am getting concerned because I only have 4, some programs I've applied to say that they are not currently giving out any more interviews, and I have yet to hear from others! Some have also said that they need step 2 scores and those won't be back until Jan. for me.

what is a safe number of interviews to have? Can anyone give me any suggestions as what would be the best course of action at this point?

Do I apply to something else, am I royally out of luck??? 🙁

Did you apply to a good mix of programs? What advanced position did you apply to? Is your application competitive? How many prelim programs did you apply to? Medicine, Surgery, or Transitional Year?

Or are you a DO student applying to a TRI?

I have 6 prelim medicine interviews and 4 TY interviews. just recently got my 4th TY interview today. So I don't feel so worried about my internship however, I am struggling for interviews for my specialty residency with only 5 interviews. So I'd gladdly trade a couple of my TY or prelim interviews for one or two more interviews in my specialty. It really does seem like there are a ton more people applying this year or maybe people are just applying to many more places than before. I applied to 36 prelim medicine programs and 20 TY programs.

I am hoping I get more interviews, what happened to this second wave of invities...
