So is anyone else on pins and needles waiting for an e-mail from Iowa State? Last year the first interview invites went out on Nov. 18...

I'm OOS, but am really impressed by Iowa's program and new large-animal facilities. Based on all of us who applied, it looks like I'm not the only one!

This thread just scared the crap out of me. I thought that things were progressing and that I was being left behind. Thank goodness you're just expressing your excitement. I'm excited too. I really hope that I get accepted here, of the three schools I applied to it's my first choice. Good luck to everyone else too. Fingers crossed!!!

I am really on pins and needles!!!! Iowa is my top OOS and I am really excited about the school. It seemed since last year they sent things out through the month of December as well so I am not worked up yet. Hearing from ANYONE would be amazing.

Yup, patiently waiting... I have Nov 18th marked on my calendar as the start of interview season. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from checking the status page non stop. 🙄

Have they started sending out invites? No one that I know of has heard anything yet...

Also, previous people have said that their statuses weren't changed until their actual letters of accept/deny were sent. So don't freak out yet 😉

I'll admit, I'm going to be hitting refresh for awhile today...

Just so everyone knows- just because you are not in the first block of OOS interviews doesn't mean that you're not top on their list! They usually either do them randomly or by contract schools first. We'll just have to be patient and cross our fingers!!

Very true, and if you look at last years interview thread there were OOS invites sent from November all the way into January. So we have LOTS of TIME.

ahh so someone already got an email.. waiting is the worst! no news is ok with me because that means no denial yet 🙂

also im expecting it to be a while because my application likely got thrown back to the bottom of the pile.. who knew they needed the official AP board results for biology to be sent, didnt expect that!

There are 3 OOS blocks....one in early Dec, Mid Jan, and Early Feb. There is one IS weekend in mid-Jan. Don't be stressed out just yet from not hearing! Best of luck to everyone!

No, I didn't get an interview...a lot of my in-state friends and classmates did though! I'm OOS (an undergrad and work at ISU Vet Med), and there are still two more rounds of interviews. I'll just have to wait and see!!

Oh, sorry about that. I just saw you in the official interview thread with your name and an e-mail and interview for Iowa State - that's why I was confused. Good luck though - I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

Well, I am OOS, but in a contract state! My fellow classmate from the same state also got an interview invite- perhaps it's a particular state(s) that gets invites first?

This round of interviews for ISU is mostly in-state and contract state interviews. I'm an undergrad at ISU and have yet to hear of any OOS people with interviews in the first round. I guess they decided to switch it up on us!!

Rumor has it that OOS will mostly be in the next cycle (probably notifications in the next 2-3 weeks with interviews in mid to late December), and some in January as well. Don't fear, there is still plenty of time for ISU!!! 🙂

I am an OOS (contract state) and I got an interview notification for Dec 5/6. Congrats to all and just keep checking for everyone else! I know it's super hard not to panic (haven't heard back from my other two schools yet).

January 8th and 9th, 2010

January 23rd and 24th, 2010

February 6th and 7th, 2010
