Anesthesiology News had an article about a place in Conn where instead of the surgeon doing a capsular injection for a TKA, the anesthesiologist does a ultrasound guided injection between the popliteal artery and the knee capsule. This block obviates the sciatic block. Patients still get a CFNB.
