I know there is a threat for apps for PDAs while on rotations. However, it's kinda old, so I was wondering what's out there now, specifically for the iPhone.

I was considering purchasing epocrates essentials. Does anyone else have suggestions?

Skyscape has 5MCC, Dr Drugs, and other programs that are really helpful. I've used the 2 mentioned and happy with them.

The new Medscape app looks like it has everything in Epocrates Essentials and more (procedure info and videos) and it's free. I would definitely check it out. The Perfect OB Wheel is a few bucks but so worth it on L&D, really nicely done.

I'm all about epocrates essentials... $259 for two years. I absolutely love it!

I have the following that I've used pretty regularly:
1) epocrates essentials - super useful quick drug/lab reference, $$ (our school has free subscription)
2) dyna med - great for management/workup of different diagnoses, more detailed drug information, $$ (our school has free subscription)
3) hopkins abx guide - can look up by type of infection or type of bug which isn't in the other drug resources, $
4) diagnosorus - great for generating ddx's on internal medicine, free
5) mediquations - great resource for all those equations that you won't remember at 5 am, cheap
6) medabbr - medical abbreviations, great for deciphering charts, cheap
