Hey,

Which numbers should we have memorized for the IR Spec portion?
Other than OH and C=O which are ~3300 broad, and ~1700 sharp&intense respectively. Also, N-H being a broad around 3300 but not sharp peak.

Saturated compounds' C-H stretching are 3000 cm-1 and below. Anything above 3000 cm-1 is indicative of unsaturation, like an alkene or an aromatic ring. This is actually a really useful one to know.

Carboxylic acids O-H are very broad and are found lower than 3300 cm-1, more like anywhere from 2500 to 3000 cm-1, as compared to alcohols which are high up.

Other than that, C=C is around 1600 cm-1, I believe.
