IR Spectroscopy???

Hey Previous PCAT takers.. I was studying my Examkracker materials and it reviews IR spectroscopy. Are those going to be tested? Will I have to recognize what the functional group is in given the IR spectrum?

There were a few basic identification spectra on the PCAT. Also, know how splitting affects the peaks (i.e. given a compound or molecular structure, know how many peaks form)

The version I took didn't have any spectra problems at all. I feel cheated!

I wouldn't waste your time memorizing spec. The version I had didn't have any, and additionally I've been around these forums through many PCAT tests and not one time did anyone say there was spec problems. However, omnione says he saw some.

Never saw IR or H-NMR on PCAT in June. However, omnione is right because it could be there in Aug. or Oct.

I bet there are thousands of 90%+ PCATers out there that don't even know what you are asking.

I took the previous test in June.

I spent a week, prior to the test date, studying spectroscopy and separation/extraction material. Ultimately, I wasted my time because, like many of you, my test lacked any spectroscopy problems.
