Irreversible inhibition vs noncompetitive inhibition

Is irreversible inhibition a lot more permanent than noncompetitive inhibition? They sound very similar except that kaplan says irreversible inhibition requires synthesis of new enzymes.

Irreversible inhibition involves covalent bonding between the enzyme and the inhibitor.
Reversible inhibitors bind non-covalently. Competitive, non-competitive, and un-competitive inhibitors are all reversible.
