Is a recommendation from D.O. required for the ACCOMAS application?

Do you know which schools require those of us applying DO to have a recommendation and which ones don't?
Thanks for any input!

It is best to contact each school independently, I know NYCOM does not, but again this is what it was some years ago when I applied there.

NYCOM currently doesn't have that requirement to apply, but it does say that a DO LOR is "highly recommended" on the secondary.

Getting a letter from a DO is always a good idea regardless. 🙂

CCOM, PCOM, Western/COMP, MSUCOM, KCOM, UMDNJ-SOM, and TUCOM does not require DO letter. However, they recommend one or need letter from MD if cannot get DO letters.

You are asking two different questions between your title and the content of your post. AACOMAS does not require any DO recs. That comes later during the secondary process. It shouldn't matter anyhow, if you get a letter from a DO then send it to all the schools you apply to. If you get any secondary apps that require a DO letter then you have to find a DO or just not apply there to that school.

Thanks, Static and everyone, for answering both my questions. I've gone to the AACOMAS website (didn't mean for the typo of AACOMAS in my title!) and looked up which schools require the DO. Some prefer either DO or MD I've found out.
Best of luck to all who are applying!
