Anyone knows if admission comittee consider "age" of applicants?
Not sure what you meant by "age", but if you are talking a number then no, and if you are talking maturity then yes....

Age isn't considered in and of itself. That would be illegal. Older applicants might hold an advantage as they are seen to be more mature, but as the majority of students are "direct" out of undergrad, and therefore younger, the overall impact of age would be negligible.

usually older students have something else to offer, whether it be more experience in the field, or even just the life experience of being out of school for a few years. most older students into optometry for specific reasons that help to make them stronger applicants. but like swiftii said, it's maturity that makes you shine (sometimes this comes with age, but not always), and discrimination is illegal.

age doesn't matter, last year scco had a 20 year old and a 34 year old and everything in between. everyone brings something different to the table, so go for it no matter how old you are.

I'll be 37 when I start at UMSL in August. As far as I could tell, my age didn't make a difference in being accpted at both of the schools I applied to.

It did make a *HUGE* difference when I went to military recruiters to apply for the HPSP scholarships, however. The Army was the only branch that was willing to accept my application. I ended up "failing" the medical exam due to my keratoconus, however, not due to age. I can't help but wonder if my age was part of the reason I was not granted a waiver, though...
