I don't know if this is a good idea because I don't want to end up in march or may with no acceptances and having to reapply the year after. I'm applying to :
UCSF, UCSD, UMich Ann Arbor, UNC Chapel Hill, UIllinois Chicago, UW, UWisconsin Madison, and USC.
All of these schools are hard to get into and I don't know if I'm backing myself into a corner. I go to a good school and have according to PharmCAS a 3.6 GPA (but my 'real' collegiate one is about .2-3 lower) and a 95 PCAT. Does anyone have any suggestions as to any other places I should apply? I'm a California resident.

I'm no expert...but I think you'll be fine! That's a great GPA and PCAT, and a good range of schools. I only applied to four.

You have a good gpa and pcat score - 8 is definitely enough. I'm sure you'll get in somewhere. Don't stress, youre better off than most of us.

One little thing is that you might have some troubles getting into an OOS public school. Their averages tend to be higher than the overall average.
On a side note, the biggest OOS state at UIC is California.

From the schools you have listed, it must be important for you to get into a great but overly competitive school. I would say that it is not the number of schools you apply to but rather the variety of schools you apply to. Since you probably don't care where you go to (these schools are everywhere), take one or two out and replace them with schools that may not be as well known and/or have lower requirements. You would be a shoe-in there.

I have the exact GPA score.... and have yet to take the PCAT.... If "evilolive" has 8 schools with his/her name and with that high of PCAT score... should I be concerned with only applying to 4?... I'm taking the PCAT in January which is one month before all my schools deadlines. Hope the competition isn't too intense around that time... however it most likely will be...

Do you go to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor for undergrad yooper? Their pharmacy school is one of my two top choices, the other being UCSF. I'm really nervous 🙁

No I go to another 4 year-public university in michigan and am getting all of my pre-req's done. U of M is my number one choice. I've toured it a couple times and absolutly love it. They're research program is amazing! Good Luck!... Hope you get in!😀

I think you have a pretty good chance of getting into U of M. I know someone who got into U of M even though she was a California resident. The only thing she complained about UM is having to pay out of state tuition. But I think with your credentials, you should be fine. Good luck!

Sweet!... well then its all positive for me! Cause I'll get in-state tuition!! 😀

Now i just gotta get all these darn pre-req's done! 😴

did you finish your degree before applying?

I'm a graduating senior, so no.
