Hi

If I have not taken biochem for cell bio will it hurt me? Thanks.

It is definitely do able. You may have some topics in cell bio that require some knowledge of biochem, but it is possible.

At my school, biochem wasn't required for cell bio, and I didnt' see anything that made me think I should have taken it- but check with the cell bio prof at your school to get a better idea of how it is taught there

i would def take biochem
its great and required for everything, it will only help you
you can get thru cell bio w/o it, but i would take it

I'm taking biochem and cell bio concurrently. A lot of stuff overlaps between the two classes. It would be useful to take biochem before cell bio, but it definitely isn't necessary.

I didn't have it. Like the guy up there, my school didn't require it, in fact most people took it without. I think you should check with the teacher of your class though - he/she will be able to tell you most accurately how well you can do in that class without it.

I agree. Check with the prof. If your school says that biochem. is required to take cell bio., there is probably a reason for that. I took cell bio first, then biochem, but that's how it was set up in my school.

I'm taking cell bio right now and haven't taken biochem yet. At my school, cell bio is required for biochem.

It's more difficult without biochem, but I found that cell bio helped me out for genetics, biochem, and physiology. Now that I have had biochem I kind of wish I could go back and relearn cell bio since most of it didn't stick. And I guess I get to do that in medical school 🙂.

Thanks. I will check with the prof
