is compensatory pause step 1 or step 2 stuff

i was talking to a doctor and he mentioned compensatory pause. I had not seen that term at all on FA or Kaplan medessentials for step 1. So I am guessing its a step 2 concept as when I google it, I see it being mentioned in FA step 2 book
 
Mind you, this is only coming from an MSIV, but I don't think it's really a question for either. I have never seen a question on it on any step 1 prep stuff, step 2 prep stuff, any nbme, anywhere really. I don't think there's much clinical utility to knowing it. Again, only an MSIV, so I may be missing something, but I don't think you're every going to affect a patient by knowing about a compensatory pause.

agree, I have not seen it in board prep materials either. that being said, its a term thrown around in the clinical environment a lot so I suppose its good to know. as far as application, recognizing it might help in identification of ectopic beats and knowing to expect them will help with overall ecg interpretation
