Isn't it a waste of money to do secondary application and then find out you were not accepted? Do we have to do the secondary application or wait till we get an email that says they are interested then to work on the secondary application? I'm not sure how it works. Can you explain because doing secondary application for 30 schools I've chosen (MD and DO) will cost a lot of money. Thank you!

Yes. That's just part of the process. The financial sacrifices are made by everybody. Yep it sucks.

some schools screen (all UC's do). most will just give you a secondary for your money. looks like that's how this game is played but you can't win unless you pay and play.

Very few schools screen out applicants prior to sending out their secondaries, so as mentioned above your application will not be considered if you do not complete a secondary and pay the application fee.

That's just how it goes.

Until there is some restriction on the number of schools to which an applicant can apply, fees are the only way to reduce frivolous applications.

You have to complete the secondary and pay those fees... My bank account is hemorrhaging away.

I don't know if anyone feels the same, but does anyone feel that now that they've spent so much on their secondaries, spending a few bucks here and there doesn't matter so much anymore?

My day yesterday: I'm hungry, **** it, I just spent 125 dollars submitting a 30 second secondary to Rochester, whats another $30 on steak for lunch? YOLO
