Hi,

I am considering to apply to post bacc programs, and wondering if GMAT is acceptable in applying to post bacc programs instead of SAT,GRE,etc.

I would be more than happy if anyone who knows about this replies.

Thank you so much.

Any idea about specific programs?

I had a look at my programs website and it talks about SAT and GRE but doesn't mention GMAT.

It may be a school by school decision in which you'll prob have to call the respective schools and ask.

Good luck and let us know the answer as i'm sure several others will want to know

It isnt accepted in lieu of other tests at any school I looked at. Some schools will take your score into account though.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at your programs website. I know everywhere it says GRE and SAT, but I just wonder how strict they are with that. I asked the question thinking about any school, but particularly I would like to know about Bryn Mawr, Scripps or Johns Hopkins.

As you suggest, I might have to call each school individually.

I took GRE also but it is more than 5 years old, and I cannot get the score sent to me anymore.

Also, do you know if the test scores have to be sent in a sealed envelope?

Thanks again.

FYI, I went to Scripps and got into BM, Hopkins, and Goucher. Every one of those schools required the SAT/GRE, so maybe that will save you a phone call. Are you sure you can't get your GRE score? I don't think it expires in that way but I could be wrong.

You are really awesome. Being accepted to all of those programs is really a huge success. Which medical school did you end up at?

Also, why did you choose Scripps? Would you recommend that? Also, I've noticed that Jodi left Scripps.

So, do you think if there is any chance that they might consider my GMAT in lieu of GRE. I called the GRE office they said that they cannnot deliver score reports older than 5 years. BTW, which GRE score would be good to get into Scripps/BM/Hopkins?

Sorry for asking too many questions.

Thanks in advance.

I was living in SoCal at the time and didn't want to relocate. Scripps also has smaller class sizes and a lot of other nice features. I made a post with all the info about the program and my thoughts on it if you do a search. Yeah I noticed that she left too, which is unfortunate bc she was a great advisor not only to the pbpm but also for the undergrads at the jsd, but the program will be fine, there is a great core of faculty and administration support for the program.

I don't think you'll be able to convince them to accept the GMAT, simply bc I don't think anyone outside of business programs knows how to evaluate it. Mid 1300s and above are probably a good guess of the baseline score you'd need assuming everything else was good. PM me if you'd like more info.

I'm also interested in this question. I'm looking only at Bryn Mawr and Goucher, and in looking at their applications, BM specifically asks for the SAT or ACT and then has an "Other" category, while Goucher asks for the SAT, ACT or GRE. My SAT score is now over 10 years old (though I scored very well). Would this be sufficient for both programs, or is there a time limit on the scores? I took the GMAT a little over a year ago (in b-school now) and scored in the 99th percentile overall, which in my mind helps to validate my SAT score. Just not sure how the schools will view it. And while I agree with your point that schools have no way to evaluate the GMAT, I would think the overall percentile should be relatively helpful in understanding it, particularly in this case. It also doesn't take much digging to find that the GRE and GMAT don't vary substantially in difficultly (consensus seems to be that GMAT math is harder while GRE verbal is harder).

Obviously will run it by both programs before I apply.

My SAT score was quite old too, it wasn't a problem when I applied.
