is gpa calculated to 1 or 2 d.p?

A 3.97 doesn't round to a 4.0

AMCAS calculates it out to 2 decimal places.

3.799 will be 3.80, but 3.794 will be 3.79.

OP, I'm pretty sure AMCAS just uses the floor function when calculating your GPA. So a 3.99 would turn into a 3.0 on AMCAS. Yeah, it's a pretty unforgiving system. Pretty much gotta get a 4.0 to be safe.
