I am wondering from a patient standpoint, is it okay to ask your doctor about his or her religious beliefs, and how should a Doctor respond to those questions without potentially offending the patient? I wonder if it is common for patient-doctor relationships to be compromised due to differences in religion, if a doctor was to honestly reveal his/her religious beliefs.

It’s not your problem if they ask you and you answer and they don’t like it.

If you cannot take that risk then politely redirect, “I’d really prefer to focus on getting you the best care right now so if you could tell me ....(insert your next question)
