to do updates?

For example, I submitted AMCAS without my last quarter's grades, which are still 2 weeks away. So when I do secondaries, by which time the grades will be out, can I use the "what else do you want to say" area to update them on these grades and inform them I've graduated, blah blah blah?

I think that's appropriate, although you will still need to send an updated transcript, I imagine.

Talking about your new grades doesn't really have the impact of a well written essay. I'd just send them your new transcript, instead. Either way, they won't recalculate a new GPA for you, unfortunetely, so any benefit will be qualitative. ("Good, they're doing better" or "Well, looks like they're staying a top notch student")
