I applied to both GW and Georgetown. I received an invitation to interview at Georgetown last week. Flying from St. Louis to DC is pretty expensive (about $300, round trip), so I'd rather kill two birds with one stone, if possible... is it appropriate to call GW and tactfully ask if they've made a decision on whether to interview me or not? I don't want to sound like a dick, but that's $300 I can use to cover the costs of another city's worth of interviews. Thanks, guys.

Congrats on your two interviews!!!! I would go ahead and call GW and ask if they have made a decision or not to interview you. It is appropriate considering time and money and most schools understand this. The worse thing they can do is say no.....better to know that never ask at all!!! Good luck!!!

I've heard of cases where someone asked, and a school [I don't remember which one] arranged an interview to suit. Like voltron said, it can't hurt. And, heck, these guys gotta realize how much it costs to interview.

Every app I've filled out says "If you're going to be in the *whatever* area, please call our office to see if you have been selected for an interview." Well, not Mayo....
