Or do SAT vocab words tend to come out more often when you are all dressed up in a suit/tie/dress/etc/ for interviews 😀

And words like um, yea, dude, just totally disappear

well, that's the whole point of learning them, isn't it?

My favorite has to be the word ambiguous and to a lesser extend unambiguous. My professors overuse and misuse them all the time. Leave it to pretensious people to use the word unambiguous when instead they could use the word clear. I believe most words have a place in writing and speeches, but colloquial speech doesn't need such words. Unless of course, you're trying to show off.

I also like the word "dynamic," especially when used in the business world. Most people have no idea what it means. I swear they'll turn to someone and say "my, that's such a dynamic tie you're wearing!" - and it's not a holographic tie...

That is a very dynamic post.

I personally love mocking the Wharton-ites when I'm all dressed up for interviews. Mature? Absolutely not. But it's great fun spewing HR catch phrases while wearing the power suit.

Sev, when we end up at UPenn's second look weekend together (I can hope, right?) I promise to wear this tie so you can call it dynamic, properly:

I'd be concerned if I was at an interview, for example, and I heard my future medical classmates using words like "dude, um, and like" every other word or so.

That's not a very team-oriented approach. You might need to be tasked with touching base offline to make sure everyone's on the same page. Now, who owns that process?
