Is it mandatory to take a semester of psychology course b4 applying for optometry? I don't think I am that interested in psychology. I will only take it if it's the core pre-req for opt school.

take your OAT first,
then apply to schools
THEN finish all your pre-reqs: i.e psychology, calc, biochem etc.
you dont need psychology until the first day of classes so, you can put it off for a while....

I'm not really interested in psych myself, but I had to as a requirement for both PCO and SCCO.

I ended up just taking Asian American Psych. It was cake and a pretty fun class also!

I actually took sociology and that filled the requirement for psychology. I had asked for psych but first semester freshman year we couldn't pick our electives specifically, just gave a few we'd be interested in. I think I may have only had to send in the course description with my application. FYI!
