Is it neurotic to think that the number of waitlists might hurt me?

So, I'm on about 7 waitlists at the moment, and I've chosen to matriculate at Pitt over my other acceptances. I'm primarily interested in only 3 of my waitlists, though I would consider all of them if accepted. Would it be best to limit my number of waitlists to my top three (Duke, Washu, Columbia in no particular order)? I guess I'm worried that the large number of wait list spots might discourage these schools from considering me in light of me holding out for so many places. I doubt it would increase their interest in nabbing me before the others, and might make them ask why I was waitlisted at so many.

he, i mean it wont hurt you.

i think the schools know about your acceptances (not your waitlists), so if you want to get into one off the WL you might have to write a LOI.

I agree that schools can see what other schools have accepted you, but they do not know what waitlists you're on. So being on 7 waitlists won't make any difference for you.
