Is it ok to send out the AADSAS app a month before recs?

I have to get 5 letters of recs and it may take a while. My pre-health professions commitee also requires an interview with them which takes place a couple weeks after getting all your recs in. Would it be ok to fill out the AADSAS appliation without finishing up the recs? I want to finish that up within a week. I also am planning on taking the DATS in early September.

I cannot stress to you how important it is to get your app out as soon as possible! It takes AADSAS 4-6 weeks just to calculate your GPA after they have recieved official transcripts (already you're looking at 5-7 weeks, providing the transcripts don't get lost the first time, like mine did). After the GPA has been checked, it takes them up to 2 weeks to mail the printout (I believe they send them out in 2 week batches, correct me if I wrong, I read this in a previous post). AADSAS will not hold up your application for LOR's, or DAT so there's no reason for you not to send it. I'm not trying to freak you out, I'm just saying it takes them a long time to process the application. You never know your LOR's might be ready before the application. From what I've been hearing the average turnaround recently has been about a month to review transcripts. Best of Luck!

I think I read from AADSAS that they don't send application to school until they get transcript, LOR, and fees, So i think they will hold up~!

AADSAS will send your application as soon as they get your $$$ and your transcripts...they don't really care about your LORs, in fact, I think they go out of their way to lose them. 😀

AADSAS will send your app as soon as they get your transcripts. I personally would send your letters directly to the schools as well as transcripts because AADSAS will more than likley lose one or more of these items. I am not exagerrating about that. Of the ten people that I know, and talked to personally, that applied last year 7 of them had something lost by AADSAS and it slowed their application down. One of them had LOR's and transcripts arrive to the school but no application, LOR's but no transcrips to another school and one school said they only got 2 of the three LOR's that were supposed to be there and nothing else. Moral of the story is to keep in contact with the school and to use AADSAS for as little as possible, even thought they seem to charge us as much as possible.

if the school says that the deadline is let's say oct, does that mean the app has to be e-submitted by oct or the school has to receive the mailing by oct?
