Is it okay to contact multiple people for research?

Like if I met with a professor, would he be cool with the fact that I'm talking to more than one person for a research spot and I'm just checking in to learn a little more?

I *believe* that's a normal thing to do. You go and meet with a professor, find out what they're doing, see if they have a project that's a good fit. Then go an talk to a couple more and follow up with all of them.
 
That's the way you should be doing it, yes. If you get accepted, just make sure to give them an appropriate timeline of when you'll get back to them on your answer.
