Hello!

My story is a bit unusual. I was a pre optometry student while in college and was an active member of this forum. Long story short, I applied to ONLY one school and got in the 2nd time around. But here is the tough part: I didn't go to optometry school for a number of personal and financial reasons. For the past year, I have been in the recruiting/staffing industry and practically hate what i do because I realized that I truly love Optometry as a profession and enjoyed working in that field. I have been thinking about applying again this year but don't consider myself a competitive candidate. I graduated with a biology degree in 07 with a 3.01 gpa, have 4.5 years of optometry experience and a 350 on my OATS. I was admitted to ICO and it still is the only school I can apply to. Any insight is much appreciated.

It's totally possible! Your OAT scores sound good, maybe you could just take a few grad level classes to brush up.
