Couple questions:

1. is AACS (American Association of Cosmetic Surgery) a legit organization?

2. Is cosmetic fellowship/aesthetic fellowships only for plastic surgery residents?

I guess you can take a look into hand surgery and "aesthetic rejuvenation of the hand".

Is AACS a legit organization? Because it stated on there that you can have an orthopedic surgery background and also do cosmetic surgery.

There’s a doc in my town that is an OBGYN that has some kind of certification in cosmetic surgery (not fellowship). No he does not give Botox to female reproductive parts but rather he functions more as an inpatient plastic surgeon (no procedures with gas). So ortho to cosmetic surgery?? Maybe.

You will have much better training if you complete a Plastic Surgery fellowship. If you have completed an ACGME program in orthopedic surgery you will be eligible to apply for an independent plastic surgery residency. You will have the opportunity to attain board certification in both orthopedic and plastic surgery.

Well my friend is a PRN trauma doc (his first specialty) and now he runs a cosmetic medicine business, where I get my T injections now.

Haven't asked him if he did a fellowship or what, but you could work in that business.
