I have recently decided to go ahead and apply to South University in Georgia. I am worried that I may be wasting my time and money b.c it is fairly late to be applying there. Anyone have any input on this.

I hope it's not too late, I am also planning on applying to south university. I had my pcat scores sent to them, but haven't submitted my application yet. Their deadline is not until Feb 2. Did you have your pcat scores sent to them? Where else did you apply?

Do they have rolling admissions?

Yeah, they are rolling. I would go ahead and apply to South, you never know. I don't think they have started interviewing yet. I still have one more school I'm applying to, Creighton, which is also rolling. Hopefully I still have a chance. :scared:

I hope it is not too late either! I'm applying to UF, Nova, and South University. I just sent out my secondary application to South University this last Friday. But I haven't sent out my PharmCas yet! Last year I didn't get my applications sent out until around December or January, and I still got an interview at PBA and Nova. But I didn't get accepted🙁 I guess if we're all sending out applications now, we're all in the same boat!

Good luck to you 🙂

I had my PCAT scores sent to pharmCAS and they will send them to South.

I am applying to Nova, Samford, Mercer, Campbell, and now South.

Just out of curriosity, what were your pcat scores, gpa, etc from last year when you applied? I am just wondering because I am applying to the same schools as you are and I want to know if I am wasting my time!

My overall GPA last year was a 3.49 on PharmCas (3.55 at UF), my science GPA was a 3.2 on Pharmcas. My PCAT score was horrible!! It was a 35 percentile 🙁 They questioned my PCAT score, and I told them the truth, that I'm not good at taking standardized tests. The people who interviewed me at Nova were so nice! Nova put me on the alternate list. I didn't hear anything from them by late June, so I figured that I was rejected, and I went to visit my parents in Michigan. However, when I got home from Michigan in late August, I found an email from Nova asking if I was still interested. By the time they had already started classes and it was too late. It's ok though. This way I get to finish my BS and try again! I just hope they consider me again :luck:

Wow, your GPA was so good. That's too bad, I really sympathize with you. My GPA is barely a 3.0 so whatever I get on the PCAT basically decides my future. Since we are applying to the same schools, maybe I'll see you soon-

So you are applying to Nova, UF and South University? Are you applying to any other schools? I can't decide on what other schools to apply to, since I don't know much about them. I don't know anything about South University except what I read from their site. What is your first choice? I love Nova! My brother is in pharmacy school at UF, and my family lives here, so I would love to go to UF 🙂

I am applying to Nova, UF, South, Mercer, Campbell and University of Huston. I used to live in Delray which is right near Nova, so I would love to go there. I actually wouldn't mind going to their puerto rico campus either. I really hope I get into South University, because Savanah is so beautiful and I would love to live there. I really just hope I get in somewhere, I think this whole process has taken 10 years off my life!
BTW Gainsville is so much fun, we used to go up for gator growl every year, what a blast!

For those of you wondering wether to apply or not to South, I would advise you to go ahead. They have started interviewing and have their second set of interviewees tomorow, Nov. 7th. However, at this time last year I had only planned on applying to Mercer and UGA. In November I decided to expand my horizons and apply to South. In December (on my b-day!) I got an interview with South.

I'm in my first year there and love it. The faculty is great and they really care about you. It's a lot of work, as expected; but the atmosphere is amazing. Faculty are willing to spend extra time to help you. We often have extra sessions in which the faculty member meets with us in the evening or something and most of the class will attend these. GREAT SCHOOL!!

I'm also applying to South. I sent in pharmcas last weekend and now all I need to do is go to walmart and buy envelopes to send in the rest of the stuff lol. I'm applying to UF (I want Jax campus), South, PBA, FAMU, and Creighton. I want to stay as clost to Jax as possible. That's something you don't hear every day!

Wow you guys dont venture out to California Schools? I don't blame you. I am from California and I am applying everywhere, including South Uni. I submitted everything already but I just took my pcat this october. So I guess they are still waiting on my pcat score. I guess it's not too late to apply because majority of the students are waiting for their PCAT score from October test. Good luck

CA schools are waaaay too stringent with their requirements! I exempted English 101 so I didn't have to take it, so I just took the second one and got credit for the first one. But UCSF told me I had to take it anyway if I wanted to be considered. Why would I take English 101 when I have other science prereqs to take?

I've noticed that most schools on the West coast take very few out of state applicants. And as mentioned before, they are very strict about the courses that must be taken- sometimes very obscure courses that are difficult to fit in with other pre-reqs when you're working on a timeline 😉

I would definitely apply to South University as soon as possible. It's a great school, and I really enjoy it there. I now realize fairyofsong also attends South University.
