I recently decided to apply for LSU's program for next Spring. I am almost done completing my OTCAS account but I am waiting for all my transcripts to arrive on time, this application cycle closes on June 17... I was wondering if I would be cutting it close and should just wait to apply in the new cycle that starts on July 1st??

Sidenote: LSU told me that applying at this time would be okay because they view application on a rolling basis

Any advice is appreciated!!😀:cat:

I was debating on applying too but I know it would be cutting it close. Are you from Louisiana?

since they told you it was ok, i guess you're good to go...? just hurry <---- my great advice

I was also debating applying to LSU but heard it was extremely difficult to get in from out of state... anyone know anymore about this? I mean I get it being a state school and getting money from the state etc. Are both of you from Louisiana?

I'm from Florida, this is the first time I've heard that it is more difficult to get into LSU if you are from out of state. :grumpy:

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm from Texas, the fact that they mainly accept in state applicants is what kept me from applying

You can find their acceptance stats, I think I found them on an old OTCAS info thingy (highly technical terms here). The info I have says that they took 5 non residents, 33 residents. For that application cycle 148 residents applied and 56 non residents applied. Most state schools will always give preference to residents. I would be sure to inquire about LSU's current fiscal crisis though (whole state is in a bad bad way right now). Wouldn't want to get into a program only to have it shut down.

I applied recently and the OTCAS process moved pretty quickly for me. I'm also "out of state" but work in Louisiana and live an hour away. Wonder if that makes any difference.

you could always be 1 of those 5!

you're a little closer than me. i'm in ny. if i had gotten an interview i would've had to fly down. add the cost of that to those out of state stats and i couldn't pull the trigger. would be an awesome place to spend 2+ years tho! good luck.

i think my OTCAS stats took 2 weeks to be verified. fast process like the comment above states.
