Hi everyone,
I am a junior working on my bachelors degree. I was intending to apply to optometry school this summer (so it will be for the 2014-2015 academic year). Recently, it occurred to me that I have all the prerequisites for optometry schools and that I should try applying this year. When I looked up the deadlines, there are some more schools whose deadlines are still far away. I have not taken OAT yet, but I want to take it in March (next month).

i have narrowed down to only 3 three schools, if I apply this year (since i don't have OD letters for this year, i have selected 3 that do not REQUIRE OD letter. I understand that does not mean they are not expecting OD letters). I am not worried about application fees or anything like that. Even if i don't get in this year (mostly likely), it would be a practice, this is my thinking at this point. so my question is,

is it worth applying this late?

Thank you

If money isn't a problem, then you should go for it if you believe your GPA and future OAT score will be good enough.

It's not too late, since there are still lots of schools with later deadline dates.

But keep in mind that optomcas may take a few weeks to process your application and calculate your GPA, so if you apply, get that rolling soon!

Good luck!!

Call the schools you are interested in and find out if they have openings still.

thank you so much guys. i really appreciate your responses.
